Studio Practice

Materiality & Critical Theory

My studio practice is research-based, exploring memory, identity, emotion, cultural heritage, and human connection through contemporary painting and mixed-media approaches. I engage with traditional Indian visual languages, material culture, and Rasa theory, using layering, texture, fragments, and symbolic forms to examine the relationship between tradition and contemporaneity, personal and collective memory, and presence and absence.

A research-based painting series-

Painting Series

A research-based painting series developed during a Research Fellowship Award, exploring the interconnectedness of art, science, and life through visual inquiry. The series investigates scientific concepts, human experience, and the rhythms of life through a contemporary artistic language.

Artist Statement

Where Tradition Meets Contemporary Inquiry

My practice is rooted in research, exploring memory, emotion, identity, and cultural heritage through contemporary visual language. I bring Indian aesthetic traditions into dialogue with contemporary thought, using painting and material exploration to examine the connections between personal experience, collective memory, and the changing rhythms of life.
